Olvera Street Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month with HEALTHFEST L.A!

Olvera Street welcomes back families when HEALTHFEST L.A! takes over the historical plaza on Sunday, September 19th for a full day of fun, activities and entertainment. From event producers who brought the biggest street festival (Fiesta Broadway) to Los Angeles, comes a Hispanic Heritage Month celebration like no other. Families are invited to this free, one-day event, designed to get Latino LA healthy again while celebrating Hispanic heritage, culture and tradition!

Festivities will begin at noon and will end at 6:00 PM. Event-goers will enjoy music, food, games and shopping, all at the birthplace of Latino LA. HEALTHFEST L.A! is not just another health fair, it’s a celebration of life!

The City of Angels is on a mission to help heal those most affected by the global pandemic, particularly Latino families. Through education, explanation and vaccination, HEALTHFEST L.A! aims to provide essential resources and services to one of the most vulnerable communities in Los Angeles. Kicking off Hispanic Heritage Month, HEALTHFEST L.A! celebrates Latino culture, heritage and tradition by inviting the Latino community to the historic Placita Olvera where exhibitors will share important information about keeping families safe, healthy and informed.

HEALTHFEST L.A! has partnered with a variety of health and financial service providers to offer attendees much-needed assistance to help them recover from any hardship they may have experienced due to the pandemic. Participating exhibitors include LA Department of Mental Health, South Central Clinics, AIDS Health Foundation/LOUD (Latino Outreach and Understanding Division), LA Care, Kaiser Permanente, Remitly, Inspire Covid Study, City National Bank, AT&T, Tampico, T-Mobile and La Raza FM, partial list. Bilingual representatives will be available to speak with the public and answer any questions they may have. On-site services being provided include:

  • Health screenings and testing
  • Education about Covid safety, prevention and recovery
  • Economic aid and recovery resources

This family-friendly, free event is open to the public and all ages are welcome to attend. HEALTHFEST L.A! will not require proof of vaccination or a negative Covid test. However, to ensure everyone’s safety, HEALTHFEST L.A! will be following the Los Angeles County Department of Health’s most recent public health order.
