The new café Cult located in Santa Monica is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and has a variety of breakfast dishes that can also work for dine in. Vietnamese-born chef Kim Vu is putting her own spin on classic L.A. dishes.
The mission at Cult is to pay homage to the city of LA, its chefs, dishes, drinks and trends by mining it’s history for cult favorites and preparing nods to those dishes and drinks. Same as cult movies which are defined as much by audience reaction as they are by content, cult foods and beverages have the same devoted following and are understood by those who love them.
At Cult, they hope to create these iconic dishes and drinks which eventually will become cult dishes but they also aim to become the easy dining option. Only three blocks from the ocean, Cult is a prefect destination for both tourists and locals.

They offer muffins, breakfast sandwiches, toasts – their avocado toast has caramelized onion, blistered tomato, blue cheese crumble and chipotle aioli, but our favorite is lemon french toast with lemon compote, saigon cinnamon, driscoll blueberries and fresh cream. They also serve burgers (with many, many vegan options), salads and house daily chocolate bread pudding which changes daily.

Coffee lovers will be happy to hear that they have specials from the coffee bar such as fresh prince with matcha, oat milk, mint and raspberry puree and is served iced. Their cocktails are also amazing especially watermelon sugar high (yes, like that song), a refreshing cocktail with bacardi, watermelon, strega and citrus.
