Hollywood Roosevelt is the oldest continually operating hotel in Los Angeles (it has opened in May 1927). Probably that’s why it has some kind of mysterious vibe that draws you in. You will be amazed when you see the coffered ceiling of the historic lobby, the three-tiered fountain under the hotel’s original chandelier, the beautifully-tiled terra-cotta stairs to the mezzanine and the pool painted by David Hockney.

Fun fact: The hotel’s restored Blossom Ballroom hosted the first-ever Academy Awards ceremony on May 26, 1929. Another fun fact: Early in her career, Marilyn Monroe stayed at the Roosevelt for two years, so naturally you’ve booked yourself into the Marilyn Monroe Suite overlooking the Tropicana Pool & Cafe.

You will enjoy their newly-renovated ’60s style Tropicana pool and café with delicious chef-driven dining menu.

Loew’s Hollywood

This hotel is a part of the massive Hollywood & Highland entertainment complex and it’s overlooking Babylon, a massive three-story courtyard inspired by the Babylon scene from D.W. Griffith’s film Intolerance, complete with elephant sculptures, on the same massive scale of the original set. This is the view you won’t get anywhere else!

There are more than 70 shops and restaurants below meaning you don’t even need to go anywhere if you don’t feel like it. You are just one stop north to Universal City, with its world-famous theme park and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Nearby there are also Disney Concert Hall, The Broad and MOCA.

There are daily yoga classes at the hotel – start your day with good workout and stretching before hopping in the heated rooftop pool.

A ten-minute ride share takes you up  to the Griffith Observatory, with its famed Planetarium and the best views and hiking trails in the city. You don’t want to miss it!

Spend your evening bowling at Lucky Strike Live – the late night bowling alley and live music venue that’s part of the same complex is nearby!
