Engine Co. No. 28

A former Los Angeles Fire Department fire station on Figueroa Street in Downtown Los Angeles, Engine Company Engine Company No. 28 is a restaurant which serves the food based on recipes from American fire houses.

Housed in a beautifully restored 1912 firehouse, the Engine Company No. 28 has been serving the menu “signature” Meatloaf, New York Steak, Southern-style pan-fried chicken, crab cakes, Cobb salad, and Firehouse chili from 1989.

The weekly chef “specials” include fresh grilled fish such as salmon, sea bass and seasonal vegetables. Try their daily soups like corn chowder, chicken tortilla lime, tomato basil, broccoli and many other rotating favorites.

With its mahogany booths, white linen tables, granite bar and original brass fire pole the restaurant is reminiscent of the classic grills of San Francisco and New York.
