Kool & the Gang is an American band formed in Jersey City, New Jersey, in 1964 by brothers Robert “Kool” Bell and Ronald Bell, with Dennis “D.T.” Thomas, Robert “Spike” Mickens, Charles Smith, George Brown, and Ricky West. They have explored many musical styles including jazz, soul, funk, rock, and pop music. They’re most famous for their recognizable disco-funk sound. This iconic band has many hits such as: “Celebration”, “Get Down on It”, “Joanna”, “Misled”, and “Cherish”.
The disco-funk greats bring the party to the Bowl for their annual Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular, while Thomas Wilkins and the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra perform patriotic favorites. Get ready to get down on it!
