The Book of Liz is “…[a] delightfully off-key, off-color hymn to clichés we all live by, whether we know it or not.“—New York Times
Performances run Saturdays Sept 4 – March 26, 2022 at 7PM (except holidays).
THE STORY: Sister Elizabeth Donderstock is Squeamish, has been her whole life. She makes cheese balls (traditional and smoky) that sustain the existence of her entire religious community. However, she feels unappreciated among her Squeamish brethren, and she decides to try her luck in the outside world. Will Liz fit in? Can the Squeamish be saved? Will the cheese balls ever taste good again?
The premiere show from respected acting coach and director John Ennis’s Yard Theater Repertory, The Book of Liz is performed weekly in a new configuration, with every actor learning and performing multiple roles. The cast varies between weeks, keeping each performance fresh and unique.
