SMiZE Cream is a super-premium ice cream with an edible surprise in every cup, called the SMiZE SURPRiZE. It was founded by Tyra Banks, supermodel, reality-TV personality, talk-show host and famous entrepreneur.
What’s super fun about this delicious ice cream is the fact that there is the SMiZE SURPRiZE strategically located at the bottom of every luxurious serving. It’s a yummy reward after some serious digging – a fun & delicious discovery that appeals to the kid in all of us. Wondering where the name comes from?
In 2009 Tyra coined the “smize,” a now-lexicon term that means smiling not with your mouth, but with your eyes and on July 2nd she launched an ice cream shop in Santa Monica branded fully around it.
Technically Banks’s confection is frozen custard, not ice cream, due to its higher egg yolk and milk fat content, and it comes in a range of flavors such as strawberry birthday cake with sprinkles; salted caramel with butter-roasted pecans; Chocolate Barbecue, involving a smoked-chocolate base, brownies and roasted almonds; and one titled The Best Vanilla I Ever Had.
